What you will do:
As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will lead the test automation development of software components for surgical robotic systems. You will participate in project planning and conduct software requirement and design analysis to ensure testability. You will write software test scripts that will interact with and control complex electro-mechanical systems. You will participate in sub-system and system level testing activities and collaborate closely with application software, system test and advanced operation test teams to build reusable and scalable test solutions. You will be involved in all facets of the software development life cycle. You should be highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to convey technical information to stakeholders. It is also important that you combine excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work well both independently and as a leader of a team.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Lead component and module level software unit, integration, and regression testing.
Represent software team for any product test strategy discussions with system test and manufacturing teams.
Participate in system-level issue triage discussions and support root cause investigation and bug fix testing.
Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success as a leader on the team.
Identify and support the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology.
Support and execute segments of complex product development to advance projects through the design /development/launch process.
Contribute to product development from concept through release.
Deliver high quality results with passion, energy, and drive to meet business priorities.
What you will need:
Bachelor's in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
2+ years of professional experience in testing end-to-end complex real-time firmware and software solutions.
Experience in unit and integration level testing, automated regressing testing.
Experience with Agile, concurrent engineering, other rapid software application development methods.
Experience with static and dynamic testing, white/gray/black-box testing, boundary value test, stress test, hardware and software coverage test, test metrics and measurements, etc.
Experience in Software Development Life Cycle processes
Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability tools (e.g. JIRA, JAMA).
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards applied to the SDLC (e,g. IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 60601-1).
Software testing experience in medical device or healthcare industry preferred.
MATLAB, Python, or other scripting languages experience preferred.
Motor Controls and Robotics experience preferred.
Testing experience with C/C++ middleware and application software running on top of Linux RTOS, VxWorks, or other real-time OS preferred.
