What you will do:
Responsible for leading Software Test team focusing on new product development.
Responsible for mentoring and for further building the Software Test team and competencies with personnel onsite.
Responsible for maintaining and driving improvements in engineering systems and processes such as technical leadership for PLM (Product lifecycle management) and engineering software tools like requirements management and product design software.
Develop strategic direction and goals for your team and provide clear and timely progress updates.
Manage a team of R&D personnel for various systems and processes. Be able to select, develop, inspire, and engage talent in alignment with competency development plans and business goals.
Build strong relationships, collaborate, and influence others on cross functional teams advancing partnerships to achieve business objectives. Maintain and nurture a diverse team culture of inclusion and collaboration.
Hold self and others accountable to deliver high quality results with passion, energy, and drive to meet business priorities.
Be able to work through ambiguity or unplanned issues to achieve business results
Leads Verification testing for software requirements.
Develop strategy to coordinate with software and system engineers to integrate features and deliver tested product
Develop expert knowledge within the team of regulatory standards applicable to medical device and software development life cycle: 21 CFR part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 62304.
Develop a strong understanding of the clinical application of MAKO's product line for all team members. Understand clinical issues and system design to deliver product improvements that add value to the patient, surgeons and hospital.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field
B.S. of Engineering with 6 or more years of experience; Masters of Science with 6 years of experience; PhD with 2 or more years of experience
2 of those 6+ years in management or project leadership experience in goal setting, coaching and counseling
System and/or Software testing experience
Demonstrated experience leading a Software Testing team, estimating work, meeting quality and timeline expectations.
Demonstrated experience in medical device development and testing preferred.
Demonstrated experience in leading Software testing.
