This is a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the areas of Policy Analysis, Public Policy, Public Administration, and Social Behavior, that will focus on generating academic publications based on quantitative survey data related to a diverse set of substantive policy areas. This position will directly support ongoing research projects as assigned by the Institute Director. These projects are expected to include currently funded projects concerning resilience to urban flooding, and emerging technologies such as gene drives and wearable medical devices, and their related governance systems and regulatory regimes. Previous funded projects still being analyzed include water-energy-food nexus, climate change, and energy policy using national, representative public opinion surveys.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of statistical research methods and analysis of data using a variety of multivariate and multilevel techniques.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to work in a collaborative, team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
This is a full-time staff position, with a typical workday schedule of 8:00am to 5:00pm in the office space provided.
Preferred Education and Experience:
A Ph.D. in a social science discipline is preferred.
Alternative degree fields that link to substantive policy areas listed above may be acceptable with demonstrated ability to link to policy issues and application of appropriate research methods.
Experience with analyzing data from public opinion surveys is preferred.
Participate in preparation of scholarly publications, presentations, and research reports based on appropriate application of theories and analysis of the research data.
Maintain research records and databases.
Contribute to the design of the research including stakeholder identification and survey development.
As needed, assist in data collection and maintain research records.Performs other duties as assigned.
