Essilor of America, Inc. (Essilor), part of the dynamic and growing consumer durables/medical devices/healthcare industry, is the leading manufacturer and wholesaler of prescription eyeglass lenses in the United States. Essilor and its subsidiary, Essilor Laboratories of America, Inc., own the largest and most comprehensive optical laboratory network in the United States. Essilor of America is a subsidiary of Paris-based Essilor International, S.A., a publicly held company traded on the Euronext Paris stock exchange (Reuters: ESSI.PA). This helps keep Essilor insulated from the volatility experienced by US-based companies. Our Franco-American corporate culture is collegiate and visionary, unique in its long-term approach to business and talent.
Essilor is the world leader in ophthalmic optics, and we are committed to our mission of improving lives by improving sight. Essilor leads the industry in the research and development of innovative products, and has been recognized as one the World’s Most Innovative Companies for seven years in a row by Forbes magazine. We also have been listed as one of the top 51 companies that will change the world by Fortune magazine.
At Essilor, we believe everyone deserves good vision, and that’s why we are passionate about providing access to vision care, correction and protection of the world’s vision, and advocacy about the need for vision services We do this by bringing the most visionary lens technology and the most recommended lens brands to eye care professionals and consumers across the globe. As the creator and founding member of a variety of global and local initiatives focused on building public awareness about the importance of vision health, as well as leading the research and understanding of the socio-economic impacts of vision issues, Essilor and its employees strive daily to help reach our goal of eradicating poor vision in one generation.
