The Biomed Equipment Tech Application Analyst troubleshoots Biomedical (Medical) Equipment, utilizes schematics & block diagrams and with knowledge of dc electronics will perform maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance of medical devices. In addition to having the analytical skills required to diagnose and advise end users and to provide on the spot guidance, the analyst must have the technical skills required to repair and modify medical equipment. This is a unique skill set and it takes place in patient care areas and patient rooms and the analyst must be able to work effectively in this environment and understand how effectively doing so contributes to Carilion's mission of improving the health of the communities that we serve.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High school degree required. Associates/Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare or business or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience is preferred. Knowledge of medical devices and medical device systems, excellent troubleshooting skills and communication skills. Knowledge of office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, email and presentation software) required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration:
Maintains application vendor certifications as needed. Valid VA driver’s license.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a self-initiated team player with strong organizational, computer & analytical skills and customer services skills. Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting. Must be capable of prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Effective oral and written communication, presentation and problem solving skills required. Will require on-call coverage. Primary business hours Monday-Friday with weekend, holiday and on call coverage as needed. Occasional overnight travel required.
